I have taken out the PCB inside the monitor.
Taken into consideration that smoke came out last time i used the monitor i will replace the bigger electrolytics capacitors in the power supply and critical places. I will also get rid af the few tantalum capacitors.




Replaced capacitors.
i have now replaced ALL the electrolytics and tantalum capacitors on the main TV board.
i have powered the board with a lab psu and it consumed approx 700mA and NO smoke. The regulated 11V is 11,5 V when 15 V is applied on D1+D2 pins. This is the power input from Transformer to the recifier bridge

Next step has now been done. I have replaced the 10.000 uF capacitor for 9V rail and two 470uF for +/-17V rails. After checking the voltage level i could conclude that one of the 315 mA fuses were blown for one of the 17V rails I replaced it and voltage was on again. This could be the reason for the garbage on the video output as the -17V is regulated via a 7905 voltage regulator to -5V for refreshing the video RAM
